Assistant Barn Manager
Assistant Barn Manager: position is a fabulous opportunity for someone who is looking to grow their experience and knowledge working with horses. This job offers growth opportunities within the barn to the right candidate. Position is 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, with the occasional on call shift for weekends. Shifts are both morning and afternoon. Morning chores start at 7am. Afternoon chores start times are based on the time of year. Pay: $20-$25 (starting pay is based of experience and what you have to offer as a team member). JOB DUTIES include:
Direct overall supervision and operation of the barn
Managing feed deliveries and horses dietary needs, inventory count,
Responsible for interacting and maintaining professional relationships with veterinarians, farriers, vendors and suppliers
Ensure that each horse’s daily specific diet and medical needs are met
Responsible for vetting and assisting in the hiring process of grooming staff
Train and direct grooms to maintain a clean barn, healthy animals, and a safe work environment
Ensure that the barn and equipment are always impeccably clean and well maintained
Assist in day-to-day tasks, including Feeding, Blanketing, cleaning stalls, picking paddocks, grooming, bathing wrapping, hand grazing, setting jump, hand walking, some other tasks may apply.
Maintain the highest level of hospitality services, always alert, friendly, and able to assist principal and guests politely and promptly
Ensure the highest standards of first aid, safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene are met
Possess a positive and outgoing personality and share’s that in interactions with principal, guests and coworkers
Establish systems, inventories, and procedures to streamline and improve the equine care program
All other duties as assigned
This job has supervisory responsibilities; Grooms, ranch hand
Must demonstrate clean work habits
Always conducts themselves in a professional manner in and out of the work setting
The employee must frequently lift and/ move up to 50 pounds
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet, hot or humid conditions; work near moving mechanical parts; outdoor weather conditions; extreme heat

Requirements: - Minimum 2 plus years’ experience working in/with an equine barn operation - Must be self-directed, energetic, and motivated with multi-tasking capabilities - Demonstrates positive employee image and effective guest and coworker relations by exhibiting attention to detail, congeniality, integrity, and sound judgement. - Creative and willing to work with existing core farm philosophy and style - Must demonstrate care and compassion for both team members (in and out of the barn) as well as for horses, dogs and wildlife - Reliable, showing up on time everyday. - Employee must adhere to Company and property policies and procedures, which are included in the Company’s Employee Handbook -MUST be motivated and be willing to learn. - 18 + years old, reliable transportation with valid driver's license - ability to lift up to 50lbs.

This job offers growth opportunities within the barn to the right candidate. Position is 3-5 days, with one weekend shift. Shifts are both morning and afternoon. Morning chores start at 7am. Afternoon chores start times are based on the time of year. Pay: $16-$18 (starting pay is based of experience and what you have to offer as an employee). JOB DUTIES include: - Feeding, Blanketing, cleaning stalls, picking paddocks, grooming, bathing wrapping, hand grazing, setting jump, hand walking, some other tasks may apply. -This job does require manual labor.
