Sassy Strides Equestrian was founded in November of 2017. We are family owned and operated training & show facility. We are dedicated to providing an extraordinary facility where riders and horses of all ages and abilities can enjoy themselves and work to achieve their goals.
We are a show barn specializing in high-end care and intense training programs. Our programs are designed to provide the best outcome for our horses and their riders.

Located in Lisbon on a beautiful 50 acres property with rolling fields and wooded trails. We are centrally located 3 miles from I-95 Sabattus Exit and 9 miles from I-295 Topsham Exit.

Our Facility

We have a newly constructed barn equipped with 16 luxurious stalls lined with therapeutic stall mats made by HayGain Comfort Stall, 2 wash stalls with both hot and cold water, heated viewing room, fully equipt gym & lounge that includes an office, kitchenette, bathroom and laundry facilities. Climate controlled 105'x 200' Indoor Area with GGT footing, as well as two large outdoor areas with GGT footing. For stall availability, please contact us directly.

Renae Samay
​Owner/Head Trainer & Professional Rider

Renae Samay, head trainer of Sassy Strides Equestrian, brings over a decade of experience working in top hunter/jumper show barns along the East Coast. She is known for providing exceptional care, thoughtful training, and a supportive environment that helps both horses and riders reach their full potential.

As a junior rider, Renae competed successfully in the Junior Jumpers and Eventing divisions, developing a strong foundation in horsemanship and competitive riding. In 2015, she turned professional and continued her competitive career with her mare Paprika, competing in the  1.35m Jumpers. Today, she is bringing along her next promising partner, Jumping Treasure, who is poised to follow in Paprika’s footsteps.

Throughout her professional career, Renae has traveled extensively along the East Coast, competing at prestigious “AA” rated horse shows from Wellington, Florida to Maine, earning numerous wins and top placings along the way.

Renae has had the opportunity to train with and learn from respected professionals including Olympic event rider Mike Huber, Grand Prix show jumper Anna Gansauser, David Tromp, Meredith O’Connell, and other accomplished horsemen and women who have helped shape her training philosophy.

She is a Certified ARIA Instructor, holding certifications in:
    •    Level II Show Jumping
    •    Level II Hunt Seat Over Fences
    •    Level I Stable Management

Renae enjoys working with riders of all ages and experience levels who are committed to improving their skills and building a strong partnership with their horse. Her program focuses on developing confident riders, well-trained horses, and a positive barn community.
