"I arrived at Sassy Strides having not ridden in my former discipline, Hunters, in over 15 years. Renae has done an amazing job training my very young, very big, very green imported Warmblood. She has gotten him to the show ring successfully, and is now preparing me to do the same. The SS facilities are unequaled in Maine, if not the Northeast, and great care is taken with the excellent GGT footing. There are jumper and dressage shows on the grounds, so the ability to prepare for competition is amazing. The barn has a very positive, inclusive culture, for both the competing and non-competing clients, with a rider age range of 13 to (ahem) mid-sixties. There is a really strong work ethic among the staff, starting with Renae and DeeDee. I know my horse is in the best of hands."

"This is my happy place! 2 years ago I was fortunate enough to start taking weekly lessons at sassy strides after a 20 year hiatus from riding. I was so impressed by the ability to comfortably ride inside with darn cold weather and with HEATED indoor comforts it was amazing! I can’t be more grateful to have moved from lessons once a week to leasing a horse at the farm. The horses are so cared for and everyone there is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I have felt so supported in the growth of my riding over the past couple years. After finishing my first show season after a LONG time off I couldn’t feel more proud and that couldn’t have been accomplished without training from Renae and Kristi and their skill and guidance. I get asked why I drive the distance I do to be here (I’m 45 min away) and it’s for the sole reason that I can’t imagine riding anywhere else. The arenas are so well maintained as are the pastures and barn. Everything is kept with the highest standards and the horses are cared for as they are all their own horses. There’s so much knowledge to be given in lessons and outside of them and no question is ever pushed to the side. I recommend this farm to any and all equestrians for boarding, lessons, clinics, shows, ship in schooling and now even ladies night! It’s hard to ride anywhere else once you ride here!"
